Wednesday, February 6th - At app. 16:45, TVFD was dispatched to a report of heavy smoke on CR2243 (Doc Howard Road). TVFD responded with Booster 51 with two firefighters and Squad 51 with Unit 502 but were unable to locate the source of the smoke. It is believed that the smoke could possibly have been from a 1400-acre controlled burn in San Jacinto County. Residents of Cleveland also reported heavy smoke conditions within the city. Sunday, February 3rd - At app. 22:15, Tarkington VFD was dispatched to a report of a MVA on SH321 app. 1/4-mile south of SH105. TVFD responded with Unit 502, Unit 505, Engine 51 with Unit 506 and four firefighters, and Squad 51 with Unit 508 and one firefighter to find a two-vehicle accident with minor injuries.
Saturday, February 2nd - At app. 16:00, TVFD was dispatched to a report of a MVA involving a motorcycle on FM787 app. one mile west of FM223. TVFD responded with Squad 51 with Unit 502 and Engine 51 with five firefighters. Tuesday, January 29th - At exactly midnight, Tarkington firefighters were dispatched to a report of a structure fire on CR3011. TVFD responded with Unit 502, Engine 51 with Unit 506, Unit 508 and two firefighters, Unit 593, Tanker 51 with Unit 505, Tanker 57 with one firefighter, and Booster 51 with two firefighters to find a brick home heavily involved. Mutual aid was requested from Kenefick, HWY 321, Dayton, Cleveland, and Splendora fire departments to extinguish the stubborn fire. Over 15,000 gallons of water were used to fight the blaze.
Sunday, January 27th - At app. 20:15, Tarkington VFD, along with Hwy 321 VFD, was dispatched to a report of a MVA on SH321 app. 1/2-mile south of FM1008. TVFD responded with Unit 508, Unit 593, Squad 51 with Unit 502, Engine 51 with three firefighters, and Booster 51 with three firefighters.
