Monday, December 26th- At app. 13:00, Tarkington firefighters were dispatched to a report of a brush fire in Pine Shadows. TVFD responded with Unit 501, Booster 55 with two firefighters, and Tanker 57 with two firefighters.
Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25th- Instead of spending most of the day with their friends and family, Tarkington firefighters spent the better part of the afternoon and evening responding to a total of eight calls.
At app. 14:55, Tarkington First Responders were dispatched to a possible broken leg in Davis Hill - Big Thicket Estates. TVFD responded with Rescue 51 with two firefighters.
At app. 15:00, TVFD was dispatched to a brush fire on FM787 app. 1/2 mile west of FM2518. TVFD responded with Booster 55 with two firefighters.
At app. 15:55, TVFD was dispatched to set up a LZ at SH105 and FM2518. TVFD responded with Rescue 51 with two firefighters and Engine 54 with two firefighters.
At app. 17:05, TVFD was dispatched to mutual aid Cleveland VFD on a call off of Gulf Road. TVFD responded with Booster 55 with two firefighters and Tanker 57 with two firefighters.
At app. 18:00, TVFD was dispatched to mutual aid Cleveland VFD on a call on East River Drive. TVFD responded with Booster 55 with two firefighters and Tanker 57 with two firefighters.
At app. 22:45, TVFD was again dispatched to a report of multiple explosions, this time in Spring Oaks. TVFD responded with Rescue 51 with two firefighters and Booster 55 with two firefighters but was unable to locate the source of the explosion. Dispatch reported that calls about the explosion were coming in from as far away as Dayton.
At app. 23:20, Tarkington First Responders were dispatched to a report of a 22 year-old female having difficulty breathing on FM2518. TVFD responded with Unit 501 and Rescue 51 with two firefighters.
At app. 23:50, TVFD was dispatched to setup a LZ on FM2518 for the patient in the above call. In addition to the two units above, TVFD also responded with Booster 55 with two firefighters and Engine 54 with three firefighters.
Christmas Eve, Saturday, December 24th- At app. 12:20, TVFD was dispatched to a brush fire on CR2295. TVFD responded with Unit 501, Booster 55 with two firefighters, Tanker 57 with two firefighters, and Booster 52 with one firefighter. Kenefick VFD was called for mutual aid on the call.
As Tarkington units were returning to the station from the first call, they were dispatched to another brush fire call on FM2518 at Tarkington Mobile Home Park at app. 14:10. TVFD responded with Unit 501, Booster 55 with two firefighters, Tanker 57 with two firefighters, and Booster 52 with one firefighter.
At app. 18:45, TVFD was dispatched to a report of a camp trailer and vehicle on fire on CR2164. TVFD responded with Unit 501 and Engine 54 with three firefighters. North Liberty County VFD provided mutual aid on the call.
At app. 21:30, Tarkington firefighters were dispatched to a report of explosions near FM787 and CR2210. TVFD responded with Unit 501 while other units were on standby at the station. No fire or sign of explosion was located.
Friday, December 23rd- Tarkington firefighters were dispatched to an tractor-trailer rig in the ditch on SH321 @ CR 2110 at app. 13:30. TVFD responded with Unit 502, Booster 55 with two firefighters, and Tanker 57 with one firefighter.
At app. 14:10, TVFD was dispatched to a brush fire on CR2212. TVFD responded with Unit 502 and Booster 55 with two firefighters.
At app. 16:20, TVFD was dispatched to another brush fire, this fire on CR3017B. TVFD responded with Booster 55 with one firefighters, Tanker 57 with two firefighters, and Rescue 51 with two firefighters.
Thursday, December 22nd- Tarkington VFD was dispatched to a report of a strong propane smell on CR2270 at app. 9:00. TVFD responded with Unit 502 and Engine 54 with four firefighters
At app. 11:10, TVFD was dispatched to a brush fire call on CR2246. TVFD responded with Booster 55 with two firefighters and Tanker 57 with two firefighters.
At app. 15:20, Tarkington firefighters were dispatched to a MVA on FM787 app. 1/2 mile south of the Trinity River. TVFD responded with Unit 503, Engine 54 with four firefighters, and Rescue 51 with two firefighters.
