Thursday, October 21, 2004- Tarkington firefighters were called, along with Hull-Daisetta VFD and Liberty FD, to aid Hardin VFD in fighting a large grass and woods fire on SH146. TVFD responded with Booster 55 and two firefighters.
Thursday, October 21, 2004- TVFD responded to a house fire in Green Acres on Center Street. Tarkington firefighters arrived on the scene to find the attic of a single-story wood-frame house heavily involved. Cleveland VFD and Splendora VFD were called to assist on this stubborn fire. TVFD responded with Engine 54, Tanker 57, Rescue 51, and six firefighters.

Wednesday, September 29, 2004- Tarkington VFD was called to a report of a "large fire that has gotten out of control" on CR2181 off of Tree Monkey Road. TVFD responded with Engine 54 and Tanker 57 (Booster 55 was out for service on the auxillary engine). Upon arriving on the scene, Tarkington firefighters found that the fire was actually in Shepherd VFD's territory and Shepherd had been on the location for over an hour, along with North Liberty County VFD, FM1127 VFD, and the Texas Forestry Service.
