Saturday, May 21, 2005- Tarkington firefighters were called to a car fire at JL Enterprises at app. 0630 this morning. TVFD responded with Unit 502, Booster 55 with two firefighters, and Engine 54 with two firefighters to find fire coming from under the hood of a 1995 Lincoln Town Car. Quick action by TVFD prevented the spread of the fire to other cars on the lot. Liberty County Sheriff's Office and Liberty County Fire Marshal Jim Wilson investigated the fire.

Thursday, May 19, 2005- Tarkington firefighters were called to an "unknown fire,possibly grass or structure" at app. 0145 this morning. TVFD responded with Unit 502, Booster 55 with two firefighters, Engine 54 with two firefighters, and Rescue 51 with one firefighter to find an abandoned mobile home that had burned to the ground. Liberty County Sheriff's Office was contacted, as the house had no electricity and was surrounded by a nearly impenatrable thicket.
At app. 2045, TVFD was dispatched to a report of a car fire on CR2286 (Stump Road). TVFD responded with Unit 502 and Engine 54 with four firefighters to find a gasoline flash fire caused while the vehicle's owner was working on the car's fuel system. City of Cleveland EMS was called to treat the owner for burns on his arms and face.
Wednesday, May 18, 2005- Tarkington VFD was called to setup a LZ for SkyMed helicopter on FM787 at the Shade Grocery. TVFD responded with Unit 501, Unit 502, Rescue 51 with three firefighters,and Engine 54 with two firefighters.
Monday, May 16, 2005- Tarkington firefighters responded to a call at app. 0445 for an accident at SH105 and Joe Edd Road. TVFD responded with Unit 502 and Engine 54 with three firefighters. TVFD arrived on scene to find a Ford pickup had failed to stop for the stop sign on Joe Edd Road at SH105, crossed SH105, jumped the ditch on the other side of the road, and was in a field. The Driver of the pickup was taken by private vehicle to a local hospital.
Friday, May 13, 2005- Tarkington firefighters responded to a total of three MVA calls on this day. The first call came in at app. 0445 for an accident at SH105 and SH321. TVFD responded with Unit 502 and Engine 54 with two firefighters. TVFD arrived on scene to find an eighteen-wheel tractor-trailer had left the roadway and was in a field. No one was injured in the accident.

At app. 0600, TVFD was dispatched to another MVA on SH321 at Rural Shade Road, in front of the Crumpled Straw. TVFD responded with Unit 502, Unit 503, Rescue 51 with one firefighter,and Engine 54 with one firefighter. TVFD arrived on location to find that a four-door Dodge sedan had impacted the rear of an eighteen-wheel tractor-trailer, causing extensive damage to the sedan. The occupants of the sedan were transported by City of Cleveland EMS to a local hospital.

At app. 1250, TVFD was again dispatched to a MVA at the intersection of SH105 and SH321. TVFD responded with Rescue 51 with two firefighters to find two vehicles, a Dodge pickup and a Ford Explorer, had been involved in the accident, producing multiple victims. City of Cleveland EMS transported the victims to local hospitals.
