Monday, September 5th- Tarkington First Responders were dispatched at app. 16:15 to a report of a 10-year old male have a reaction to medication off of FM1008. TVFD responded with Rescue 51 with three firefighters.
At app. 18:30, Tarkington First Responders were called to a report of a 49-year old female having chest pains in Sam Houston Lake Estates. TVFD responded with Rescue 51 with two firefighters.
Sunday, September 4th- At app. 13:30, Tarkington firefighters were called to a fully-involved structure fire in Pinecrest near the old airfield. TVFD responded with Engine 54 with three firefighters, Tanker 57 with two firefighters, and Rescue 51 with two firefighters. Cleveland VFD was also dispatched and responded with Unit 2, Engine 41, Engine 44, and Tanker 48. Firefighters spent more than three-and-a-half hours on this stubborn blaze, eventually using more than 13,500 gallons of water and 40 gallons of Class A foam.
At app. 20:45, TVFD was called to a reported structure fire on CR3141 @ CR314. TVFD responded with Unit 502 and Engine 54 with four firefighters to find a storage shed that was in the decay stage. TVFD was unable to contact the property owner, despite repeated knocks at the door. Magnesium was evident in the fire, and since magnesium is reactive with water, the decision was made to wet the area around the fire and let it burn out. In the photo below, the intense white light at the bottom, just to the left of center, is the magnesium burning.

At app. 22:00, TVFD was dispatched to a reported large pasture fire on CR2317 off of FM1008. TVFD responded with Booster 55 with two firefighters, Tanker 57 with two firefighters, Booster 53 with two firefighters, and Rescue 51 with two firefighters to find the fire to be a controlled burn.
