Thursday, September 1st- At app. 14:15, Tarkington Volunteer Fire Department was called to a brush fire in the Pinecrest Addition. The initial dispatch had mistakenly went solely to Cleveland VFD that then had to request TVFD to respond. TVFD responded with Booster 55 with two firefighters.
Tuesday, August 30th- At app. 17:00, TVFD was called to a MVA on SH321 just north of SH105 involving a Ford F250 and a Oldsmobile Alero. TVFD responded with Engine 54 with two firefighters.
Sunday, August 28th- At app. 1:00, Tarkington First Responders were dispatched to FM787 across from Twin Lakes for a report of a male who had been kicked in the head by a bull several hours earlier. TVFD responded with Unit 502 and Rescue 51 with two firefighters.
Saturday, August 27th- At app. 18:00, many residents of Tarkington lost power. The cause became apparent when TVFD was dispatched to a report of a transformer fire at the sub-station on CR301S at app. 18:45. TVFD responded with Unit 502, Engine 54 with three firefighters, Tanker 57 with two firefighters, and Rescue 51 with two firefighters. Upon verifying with the SHECO representative that the sub-station was de-energized, Tarkington firefighters extinguished the exterior fire. The transformer was still incredibly hot, prompting speculation that the oil inside the transformer was still burning. Kenefick VFD and Cleveland VFD were then dispatched to bring a tanker each for water supply operations and the deck gun on Engine 54 was used to drown the fire with over 14,000 gallons of water till firefighters were certain the fire was out.

Friday, August 26th- Tarkington VFD was called out at app. 21:15 to a MVA involving a Liberty County Sheriff's Office car on SH105 near the Tarkington Exxon at app. 21:15. TVFD responded with Engine 54 with five firefighters and Booster 55 with two firefighters.
At app. 22:15, TVFD was called out to another MVA involving a tractor-trailer rig on SH321 near Rural Shade Road. TVFD responded with Booster 55 with two firefighters, Rescue 51 with two firefighters, and Engine 54 with three firefighters.
Wednesday, August 24th- Tarkington First Responders were dispatched to to a report of a female having abdominal pains on CR2191. TVFd responded with Unit 502 and Rescue 51 with one firefighter.
Tuesday, August 23rd- Tarkington First Responders were dispatched to Sam Houston Lake Estates for a reported fall victim at app. 19:30. TVFD responded with Rescue 51 with two firefighters.
Monday, August 22nd- Tarkington First Reponders were called to a report of a 87-year old fall victim just south of SH105 on SH321 at app. 5:30. TVFD responded with Unit 504 and Unit 505.
At app. 9:15, Tarkington First Responders were called to a possible suicide on CR2292. TVFD responded with Rescue 51 with two firefighters.
At app. 15:00, TVFD was dispatched to a propane leak on CR2282. TVFD responded with Engine 54 with four firefighters.
At app. 19:15, TVFD was called to a report of a tree across the road on CR301 following the severe storms that moved through Tarkington Monday evening. TVFD responded with Unit 502 and Booster 55 with two firefighters.
At app. 19:45, as Unit 502 and Booster 55 were clearing the the scene of the CR301 call, they were dispatched to a report of a powerline down in Sam Houston Lake Estates. They responded and stayed on location until the arrival of SHECO around 22:15.
At app. 21:30, TVFD received another report of downed powerlines on CR2297. TVFD responded with Unit 503 and Engine 54 with five firefighters, staying on location until the arrival of SHECO app. thirty minutes later.
As Unit 502 and Booster 55 were returning to the station from the Sam Houston Lake Estates call at app. 22:30, they came across a MVA involving a vehicle striking a tree. Rescue 51 with two firefighters also responded, but were unable to located the driver of the vehicle.
