Sunday, December 19, 2004- Tarkington firefighters were called to the scene of an accident on Rice Road. The initial report was of an accident on SH321 at CR301. After furiously searching for several minutes for the call, Liberty SO Unit #32 found the accident app. two miles down CR3011 (Rice Road). TVFD arrived on scene to find a head-on collision involving two cars that had the roadway blocked. Only one driver was found on location as the other had left the scene of the accident. City of Cleveland EMS transported this patient to Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Soon after, a call was received that the other driver was at a local residence and needed medical assistance. TVFD assisted in clearing the roadway to allow the ambulance access and then set up a landing zone for LifeFlight at SH321 and FM1008 to transport the second patient to a Houston-area hospital. TVFD responded with Booster 55, Engine 54, Rescue 51, and a total of nine firefighters.

Sunday, December 19, 2004- TVFD was called to the scene of an major accident on FM1008 approximately one mile west of Luce Bayou. A Toyota Landcruiser had struck a dog, lost control, rolled over, and ended up in the woods on the other side of the ditch. One of the occupants was ejected and was taken by LifeFlight to Hermann Hospital in Houston. Two others were taken by ambulance to Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Friday, December 17, 2004- Tarkington VFD responded to an accident involving a DPS vehicle on FM163 near the Tarkington Middle School. TVFD responded with Engine 54 and three firefighters to provide medical assistance, lighting for the accident investigation and cleanup, and traffic control.
