Thursday, July 28,2005- At app. 13:00, Rescue 51 came across an accident that had just occured at the intersection of SH321 and SH105. A log truck had failed to negotiate the turn and had rolled over. Rescue 51 requested that other TVFD units be dispatched. TVFD responded with Unit 502, Unit 505, Booster 55 with two firefighters, Engine 54 with two firefighters, and Unit 501. TVFD assisted City of Cleveland EMS in removing the driver from the truck, then remained on location, assisting with traffic control and washing the various fluids spilled by the overturned truck from the roadway.
Wednesday, July 27th- TVFD was dispatched to a reported transformer fire on FM787 near Tree Monkey Road at app. 16:45. TVFD responded with Booster 55 with two firefighters to find a tree limb had fallen across the powerlines, tripping the breaker. SHECO arrived on location at app. the same time as TVFD and removed the limb.
At app. 20:45, Tarkington First Responders were dispatched to a female with severe back pains on CR2131. TVFD responded with Unit 502 and Rescue 51 with three firefighters.
At app. 22:30, Tarkington First Responders were dispatched to a report of a male having fallen off the roof at the Shade Grocery. TVFD responded with Unit 502 and Rescue 51 with two firefighters.
Tuesday, July 26th- At app. 18:00, Tarkington VFD was dispatched to a MVA on SH321 in front of the Ranch Hand Cafe. TVFD responded with Engine 54 with five firefighters, Rescue 51 with two firefighters, and Unit 501 to find two vehicles involved. TVFD provided traffic control and washed down the roadway.
At app. 18:30, TVFD was called to another MVA on SH321 at CR2246. All units responding to the first call went to this second call, with the addition of Booster 55 with two firefighters. TVFD arrived on location to find two vehicles involved in a rear-end collision. TVFD assisted with traffic control and washed down the roadway.
At app. 20:45, Tarkington First Responders were called to a report of a unconscious female on Tree Monkey Road. TVFD responded with Unit 501 and Rescue 51 with two firefighters.
At app. 21:15, TVFD was dispatched to a report of an explosion and unknown-type fire on Oak Shade Road near Goat Road. TVFD responded with Engine 54 with four firefighters to find a trash pile on fire.
Wednesday, July 20th- At app. 15:30, Tarkington First Responders were called to a report of a five-year old with a nail in his foot. TVFD responded with Unit 503 and Rescue 51 with one firefighter. City of Cleveland EMS responded and transported the patient to a local hospital.
A short time later, Tarkington First Responders were again called to respond to a 60-year old male having a heart attack on CR2306. TVFD responded with Rescue 51 with three firefighters. City of Cleveland EMS responded and the patient was transported to a LZ set up by TVFD and Cypress Lakes VFD for PHI SkyMed at Cypress Lakes.
At app. 23:00, TVFD was dispatched to a reported tree on fire on FM787 app. one mile east of FM2518. TVFD responded with Booster 55 with two firefighters while other TVFD units were on stand-by at the station. Booster 55 located the fire, a lone tree in a pasture on fire (possibly struck by lightning) and extinguished the fire.
Monday, July 18th- Tarkington First Responders were called to a report of a 17-year old male not breathing at the Living Waters Church on FM787 at app. 11:20. TVFD responded with Rescue 51 with two firefighters. City of Cleveland EMS also responded to the call. The patient was DOA of the EMS units.
At app. 14:00, Tarkington First Responders were called to a report of an unconscious 17-year old female on FM787 app. one mile east of the GP plant. TVFD responded with Unit 503 and Rescue 51 with two firefighters.
At app. 19:30, Tarkington firefighters were called to mutual aid Cleveland VFD on a major structure fire on the west side of the city. TVFD responded with Unit 502, Engine 54 with five firefighters, and Unit 503 who brought three additional firefighters.
Sunday, July 17th- Tarkington VFD was dispatched to a reported drowning in Mason Lake Estates at app. 08:45. TVFD reponded with Unit 503, Rescue 51 with two firefighters, Engine 54 with four firefighters, and Booster 55 with two firefighters . TVFD assisted in the recovery of the victim. At app. 19:30, TVFD responded to a car fire on CR2219. TVFD responded with Unit 502 and Engine 54 with four firefighters to find a 2001 Ford pickup and a 2001 Ford car on fire.
Monday, July 11th- Tarkington First Responders were called to an unconscious, un-responsive call at app. 16:00. TVFD responded with Unit 503 and Rescue 51 with three firefighters.
Saturday, July 9th- Tarkington firefighters were called at app. 21:00 to a reported "campfire out of control" on FM787 app. 1/2-mile west of FM 2518. TVFD responded with Booster 55 with two firefighters, Tanker 57 with two firefighters, and Booster 53 with two firefighters. Upon Booster 55's arrival, it was discovered that the fire was actually two large burn piles. Even with the recent rains, the burn ban is still in effect, so the fires were extinguished.
Friday, July 8th- Tarkington VFD was dispatched at app. 05:45 to a MVA on SH105 app. three miles east of FM2518. TVFD responded with Unit 502, Engine 54 with three firefighters, and Booster 55 with two firefighters to find a Ford F250 and a Jeep Liberty involved in a near-head on side-swipe collision. TVFD provided traffic control while the scene was investigated and cleared.
At app. 14:00, a concerned citizen reported a possible burn ban violation on CR303. Booster 55 with three firefighters was sent to investigate. Two small fires were found and the occupants informed of the burn ban. The occupants extinguished the fires.
At app. 16:00, Tarkington First Responders were called to a difficulty-breathing call off of FM1008. TVFD responded with Rescue 51 with three firefighters.
At app. 19:30, TVFD received a report of another possible burn ban violation on SH321 just south of CR312. Booster 55 with two firefighters was sent to investigate. The occupant was unaware of the burn ban and the fires were extinguished.
Wednesday, July 6th- TVFD was dispatched at app. 3:30 to a report of a car overturned in a ditch on CR2287 (Stump Road). TVFD responded with Unit 502 and Engine 54 with four firefighters to find a Chevrolet Blazer upside down in app. three feet of water with no sign of the occupants. TVFD searched the area but was unable to locate the driver or any passengers. A call to Cleveland Regional Medical Center confirmed that the driver had been taken there prior to the arrival of any law enforcement, EMS, or FD personnel.

At app. 12:00, Tarkington First Responders were called help a 83-year old female who had fallen and needed assistance on CR2230. TVFD responded with Unit 502 and Rescue 51 with three firefighters. City of Cleveland EMS also responded to the call.
At app. 21:00, TVFD received a phone call concerning possible burning on FM787. Since the burn ban is still in effect, Booster 55 with two firefighters was sent to investigate, but was unable to locate any fire.
At app. 21:30, TVFD was dispatched to a reported bonfire on CR2296. TVFD responded with Unit 502, Unit 503, Booster 55 with two firefighters, Engine 54 with three firefighters, Tanker 57 with two firefighters, and Rescue 51 with one firefighter to find a large burn pile on fire. Since the burn ban is still in effect, the fire was extinguished.
Tuesday, July 5th- At app. 12:30, Tarkington VFD was called to a reported car fire at the Citgo at SH321 and SH105. TVFD responded with Engine 54 with four firefighters and Booster 55 with two firefighters but were unable to locate any fire. They then checked Tarkington Exxon to be sure that the fire wasn't there. No fire was ever found.
Sunday, July 3rd- Tarkington firefighters were awakened early Sunday morning at app. 1:30 to respond to a large fire caused by downed power lines on FM787 near the entrance to the GP plant. TVFD responded with Unit 502, Engine 54 with four firefighters, and Booster 55 with two firefighters. The lines were still energized and the rain was keeping the fire down, so TVFD stood by until SHECO could de-energize the lines.
TVFD was again called out to check on possible burning in contravention of the burn ban at app. 14:30. TVFD responded with Booster 55 with two firefighters and Tanker 57 with one firefighter to find three small burn piles that were extinguished. The burn ban is still in effect despite the recent rains. Only an order by Liberty County Commissioner's Court can lift the ban.
